WHO removed India from the list of polio-endemic countries

The idea of celebrating this day was first proposed by Bangladesh in 1952 to honor the sacrifices of the language martyrs who gave their lives to protect the Bengali language. In 1999, UNESCO declared February 21 as International Mother Language Day to promote linguistic and cultural diversity. Languages play a vital role in shaping our identity, culture, and heritage.
